Board of Trustees Meeting

Graves Hume Public Library

May 9, 2024

  1. The Board of Trustees of the Graves Hume Public Library met at 7 pm. Board members physically present were Martha Schmitt, Deb Rogers, Nancy Jackson, Cheri Chandler, Catherine Wasmer, Kim Abel, and Library Director Emily Kofoid.
  2. Ms Jackson moved we accept the April board minutes. Seconded by Ms Chandler. Motion approved.
  3. Ms Chandler moved to approve the April Statement of Financial Position & Activity Report. Seconded by Ms. Rogers. Motion approved.
  4. Ms Wasmer moved we approve the April Check Registry. Seconded by Ms Abel. Motion approved.
  5. Correspondence: None
  6. Director’s Report: Getting bids on repair of back parking lot, repair of roof, and bathroom remodeling. Peru library uses hires Mike Kmetz as a project manager to handle big projects. Ms Chandler moved we hire Mr Kmetz as project manager for major projects at library. Seconded Ms Jackson. Motion approved.
  7. Committees:
    1. *Finance will meet at 6:00 before June 13 meeting to discuss Working Budget.
    2. *Personnel and Policy met today. Ms Abel Moved we accept the changes in FOI Policy. Seconded by Ms Wasmer. Motion Approved. The Performance Evaluation Policy discussion was tabled.

  9. New Business: Discussed Non-Resident Fees.
  10. No Closed Session. No visitors
  11. Ms Chandler moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:38pm. Seconded by Ms Jackson. Motion approved.
