The Digit-ILL team from Western Illinois University will host a free in-person Online Health Literacy training session. The session aims to help
community members understand how technology can serve better health management. During the training, participants will learn how to locate and navigate credible online
health resources and use personal health records (PHRs) to organize their medical information, which improves healthcare outcomes. Access to reliable online health information can be empowering. It enables individuals to research conditions, connect with support groups, and—when needed—interact anonymously with healthcare professionals. These benefits can be especially valuable for people who face stigma or feel uncomfortable seeking support in person.
Digit-ILL is part of the READY Broadband Program, a statewide initiative in Illinois focused on promoting digital equity for all residents.
